This idea is by Cubs GM (Matt)
RFA Compensation: If an RFA is let go and signed by a new team you will get a comp draft pick.
Draft Pick Comps Amount Signed For....................................Comp Round >$15 Mil ................................................between 1st and 2nd round $14,999,999-$7,500,000.......................between 2nd and 3rd round <7,499,000 ...........................................between 3rd and 4th round
Feel free to say your opinion below this.

I like the idea. I think it makes the league a little more realistic, kinda like type a and type b free agent compensation.

I voted yes because its a win-win. One team gains a player that they obviously wanted by bidding on them, the other team gets a comp draft pick. Whats wrong with that?

I like this idea also. I had been thinking about it, although not this detailed. It will make letting go of a RFA a lot easier when you know you are going to get an extra pick for it, and it may even keep the bids lower on the RFA because no one wants you to get the high draft picks.
And if you are worried about your draft picks being knocked down too far, it is only a max of 16 picks, and odds are a lot of the teams will match the high bidder for their RFA, so it should only be a handful of extra picks.

all you have to keep track of is if you want to resign the guy once the bidding is done. You cant bid on your own RFA, and if a couple owners want to drive the price up on your just to be dicks, then you can dump the guy on them and take a good pick. Thats one of the points, to keep people from simply driving up the price on guys. Its mine and Mikes job to keep track of the RFA's so you dont have to worry about that with your busy life.
