Team | Rank (LW) | Record | Trending | Comments
Giants | 1 (1) | 7-1 | - | The winning streak is now up to 7 in a row as the Giants won the first father-son matchup of the year. It wasn't easy as the Giants and Braves were tied for most of Sunday, but they were able to get the win because of hits by Murphy and Beltran in the night game. They're now set to face 3 teams in a row with under .500 records.
Indians | 2 (2) | 7-1 | - | Cleveland, outside of ERA and AVG, looked solid this week with an impressive 13-1-0 win over the Tigers. Kipnis led the way once again with 5 SB, 6 RBI, and a .320 average. There's no doubt hes already established himself as a top fantasy second baseman. The Indians will need him to continue to hit well as they now face the 6-1-1 Rangers.
| Rangers | 3 (3) | 6-1-1 | - | It wasn't their best week, but lucky for them they ran into a struggling Rays team and easily won 11-3-0. The pitching was pretty bad, but strong starts by Hughes and Harrison on Sunday could be a sign of things to come. The Rangers will need their pitching and hitting to be better if they are going to take down the 7-1 Indians in the matchup of the week. |
Cubs | 4 (4) | 6-2 | - | Impressive week for the Cubs as they easily took down the Marlins with strong hitting and pitching. Unfortunately, they found out that Tulo was headed to the DL. As long as Jones continues his breakout season and Braun continues to be a stud, they'll be fine.
Braves6 (5)5-2-1That's a tough loss to take. It looked like they were going to get at least a tie, but key hits by the Giants in the night game sent them to their second straight loss. No reason to worry though as the offense looked very good. Their pitching is going to have to do better though if they want to take down the much improved Reds.

Tigers7 (6)4-3-1For the second week in a row the pitching struggled. Even last year's MVP had an off week with an ERA close to 6. The offense also stalled with Miggy single handedly carrying the offense. They're going to need to play better if they want to prevent the Royals from taking their playoff spot.

Reds8 (10)3-5After exploding last week the offense came back down to earth. Their pitching led by Cahill was impressive though and led them to a 2-0 record under new management. They'll try to make it 3 in a row in a tough matchup against the Braves.

Rays9 (8)2-5-1A team that looked destined for the playoffs during the offseason continued to struggle. Injuries to Jennings, Longo, and Chacin have really hurt as have the struggles of Ubaldo. It looks like they've accepted the fact that its time to rebuild as they traded breakout star Melky Cabrera for the first pick in the draft.

Rockies10 (12)4-4The Rockies continue to play well and have now won 3 in a row. Their pitching and offense have been outstanding the past few weeks as everyone is contributing to the streak. They'll try and make it 4 in a row against the struggling Nationals.

Nationals11 (9)3-5The losing streak was extended to four matchups in a row as the Nationals were taken down by the Reds. Since starting off 2-0 the team has really struggled, ranking near the bottom in the majority of the categories. However, Pujols and Harper have been playing very well lately and when they're on their game they can carry an offense. The Nationals hope that the return of Morse as well as the promotion of Milone can turn things around.

Phillies12 (11)2-5-1It was an okay week for the Phillies as they put up decent numbers, but were blown out by the red-hot Rockies. Trout has been huge for the team since being called up and they're going to need him to continue to hit well if they're gonna stay in contention until the big guns Utley and Howard come back.

Royals13 (14)3-5For the fourth week in a row the Royals looked very good. Ethier and Yadier continued their impressive seasons and Haren and Weeks are starting to heat up. Off the field, the Royals look like they've made a great acquisition to improve their struggling pitching by getting Romero from the Cubs.

Astros14 (13)2-6For the second week in a row the Astros had a very tough loss, this time barely losing 6-7-1 to KC. The offense wasn't too bad as Altuve continues his breakout year, but the pitching really let them down with a 6.167 ERA. They are going to need to improve on that if they're going to have any chance against Boston.

Mariners15 (15)1-6-1-The Mariners are still searching for their first win since week 1, but the front office was busy once again. This time they dumped Ichiro and were able to get former top prospect Rasmus. He has yet to live up to expectations, but he's still young and has all the tools to succeed. Maybe he can turn things around along with the other Mariners recent acqusitions and lead the team to some wins.

Marlins16 (16)1-7-The Marlins are stuck in the last spot of the power rankings for the third week in a row. However, this time it wasn't their fault as they were stuck facing one of the top teams in the league. They played very well though with 12 HR, 116 TB, and 6 holds. Unfortunately for them, things don't get any easier as they now have to face arguably the best team in the league.
